Anjar is a town arranges in the Kutch District of Gujarat. It lies at a separation of 15 km from the Gulf of Kutch, at a rise of 82 m above ocean level. This town has made the capital of Kutch three times, under different rulers. It is the most established city of Kutch & named after the Kshatriya-Chauhan ruler, Ajepal.

Initially known as Ajay Vas, its name changed throughout the years, to Anjar. It worked by the Mistris who were Rajputs gifted both at war and development. Anjar also experienced a severe quake in 1819 which obliterated much property & life. Again because of the Gujarat seismic tremor of 2001, it endured gigantic misfortunes.

Anjar also called the ‘City of Temples,’ as it is home to various massive & antiquated temples. Among the most acclaimed, are Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Bhareswar Mahadev Mandir & Bhid Bhanjan Mahadev Temple. Different spots of religious significance in the town incorporate the Jesal-Toral Grave, arranged close to the Ajepal Dada Mandir. The town also has three lakes in its environment.
